Job Description
J Ll Leach & Co are the leading air compressor house in Staffordshire, Shropshire and the West Midlands and is based across three sites in these areas.
We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who can be cross-trained to service air compressors in addition to repairing and servicing ancillary equipment.
This job is an established role within our Company, working closely with our existing Compressed Air, Nitrogen Generation and Vacuum Team, dealing with the on-site commissioning, maintenance and repair of industrial air treatment equipment, air compressors, nitrogen and oxygen generators, vacuum and associated equipment.
This work may involve complete strip-downs and overhauls on client machines at client sites.
The successful candidate will ideally be located in North Staffordshire or within 20 miles of our Head Office.

Duties
- Service, maintenance and repair of all forms of air dryers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers, valves, etc.
- Other duties may include delivery/collection of equipment & parts and also assisting other engineers both in the workshops and on site.
- Attend ‘call out’ to client sites outside normal working hours as required.
Skills
- Good engineering skills, particularly with knowledge of all types of industrial air compressors and associated equipment
- Working knowledge of compressor electrical and control systems.
- Extensive Engineering experience and/or recognised qualifications.
- Good communication skills
- Full UK driving licence (or European Equivalent – Std Licence up to 3.5 tonnes)
- Basic working knowledge of H&S issues, documentation, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Personal Safety as well as current legislation relating to the tasks being undertaken.
- Ability to fit in as part of our team.
Other desirable skills (but not essential)
- An understanding of basic compression principles, including flow, pressure and volume.
- Electrical fault-finding abilities.
- The successful applicant will be based at our Stoke on Trent Office.
